We are currently searching for a JavaScript/TypeScript Software Engineer to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with Guidehouse and can sit remotely.
What You Will Do
- Write front-end code as a primary job responsibility, considering security, testability, maintainability, scalability, performance, and documentation.
- Deliver assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner and take ownership of the task completion with good quality.
- Work closely with scientific subject matter experts, UI/UX designers, and stakeholders to ensure visually appealing, functional, and intuitive software.
- Other duties as required.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience.
- Expertise with client-side technologies and frameworks; strong TypeScript, Vue, React, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience in building applications that send data to and receive data from HTTP-based APIs.
- Experience with version control and collaborative development practices, deploying code (including GitHub Action, pull requests, and code review) using Git and GitHub.
- Experience working with docker images and containerized applications.
- Experience with interaction design, usability, and information architecture.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and oral communication skills to convey computational biology principles and concepts to non-specialists in a clear and precise manner and advise on relevant software and tools with a dedication to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to concurrently work on multiple complex projects with effective time management skills, a high level of personal and professional drive and initiative, and attention to detail.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Masters Degree in Computer Science.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Ability to communicate and work with a multi-disciplinary team of developers, analysts, and scientific subject matter experts.
- Experience with working with Figma on mockups and prototypes.
- Experience with developing on cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Experience with developing visualizations using the D3.JS Library.
The annual salary range for this position is $86,500.00-$129,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
