The LED Engineering Technician is responsible for developing and testing solutions to solve technical problems with video, audio, and lighting equipment.
Typical duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Set-up, configure and test performance of inbound items requiring operational testing to verify required specifications. Assist in diagnosing faulty units or peripherals for repair or parts replacement.
  • Place equipment in service and diagnose repairs of equipment.
  • Assemble and repair required cable assemblies, such as, but not limited to, video, audio, power and control cables.
  • Check the condition of shipping cases to ensure that all components are reliable.
  • Reconfigure and update production packages and equipment with the latest hardware and software changes to meet new specs and show requirements.
  • Provide 24/7 support for all equipment to warehouse personnel.
  • Track orders and transfers by working with Operations, Logistics and Account Executives.
  • Assist Engineering staff with daily quality control priorities.
  • Communicate with field technicians or customers to assist with the diagnosis of the type and extent of problems with equipment in the field.
  • Update and assist in maintaining service records and tracking of parts inventory.
  • Perform any range of preventative maintenance routines. Check all components of systems to ensure that systems function at full capacity, meet all visual standards and are ready for next use.
  • Complete evaluation forms to indicate requirements, upgrades and work performed.
  • Work from manufacturer documentation, operation manuals, technical bulletins, schematics and other similar documentation.
  • Assist in training personnel on current video, audio, computer systems and lighting technologies, verifying that LMG staff is up to date on current procedures for operations and quality control of equipment.
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining the management of software licenses and update revisions of computer systems.
  • Manage and maintain all peripherals and cables required for all rental computer systems.
  • Communicate to all pertinent departments any issues.
  • Other duties as pertaining to the job and are assigned and/or deemed necessary.
To be a successful LED Engineering Technician you should have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience with LED equipment preferred
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
