Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Director, Modern Software Development to join our team in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for establishing and leading a software development practice within our Digital Transformation Division.
  • This role encompasses strategic planning, team building, and technical oversight.
  • Key responsibilities include defining the technical vision, managing software development projects, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives.
  • They also play a crucial role in building client relationships, driving revenue growth, and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven Leadership Experience: A successful track record of leading software development teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing talent.
  • Deep Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of modern software development methodologies, technologies, and architectures (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, UX/UI, cloud computing, microservices).
  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to align technology strategies with organizational goals.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex software development projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Capture/Proposal Management: Demonstrated success in leading capture and proposal efforts for deals greater than $50M.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A passion for innovation and the ability to identify new market opportunities and develop innovative software solutions.
  • Consulting Experience: Experience in a consulting environment, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver value.
  • 10+ years of US Federal Government Industry Knowledge.
  • P&L Responsibility: Experience managing a software development P&L, including revenue generation, cost management, and profitability.
  • Advanced Degrees: An advanced degree in computer science or a related field.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain up to a secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $156,400-$261,400. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
