Our Fortune 100 telecom client is hiring a Network Engineer to join their Engineering Business Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. Your primary objective will be to ensure network availability, stability, and security for our organization. This team will specially be focused on packet core/core, 4G/5G/LTE, and messaging.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, etc.)
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Document network topology, infrastructure, and operational procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support when necessary
Requirements
- 4-7 years of professional experience in a similar network engineer role.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, SNMP)
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with tools such as NetScout, Wireshark, RAN tools, CDR tools, and provisioning tools.
- Ability to use ticketing tools such as Service Now, OneConsole, and Axiom.
- Proven experience with OEMs such as Nokia, Ericsson, Mavenier, Cisco, JMA, Corning, Commscope, ADRF, Solid.
Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, etc.) are a plus
