CNC Setup Programmer-Prove-out Machinist Job Overview

CNC Setup Programmer-Prove-out Machinist Responsibilities
- Create and prove-out programs that generate parts compliant with blueprint specifications and meet routed times.
- Work with the assigned project engineer on the design and choice of tooling and fixturing to meet performance, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Create programs that meet project requirements (cycle time, needed quality, ease of use).
- Create the DPP per ISO/AS requirements.
- Alert the Tool Crib of special tooling requirements before the job is scheduled to start.
- Perform first-run set-ups while minimizing spindle down-time.
- Successfully prove-out the programs and make any adjustments needed to meet requirements.
- Complete the DPP for future machinists to use.
- Train the initial machinist on how to execute the job.
- Help reduce costs for selected jobs where opportunities exist.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Associate's Degree or an equivalent education.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with AS9102B First Article Inspection Reports
- Strong manufacturing and CADCAM skills.
- Strong blueprint reading skills (including GD&T).
- Strong communication skills.
- A willingness to grow and learn.
