The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Information Technology business unit, the Executive Director, Software Engineering is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. This may include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and/or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and improvement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve sophisticated business problems.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as a leader in Information Technology (IT) and contribute to the creation of strategies and implementation of the supporting solutions
  • Manage and develop talent to support the organization's strategic direction, prioritize associated work based on business requirements
  • Support a growing user community in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure proper disciplines and controls within the IT environment, as evidenced by strong audits and exams.
  • Serve as a “Change Agent” who brings a sense of urgency and can mobilize resources and complete initiatives on time.
  • Understand how technology works, bring a passion for technology, know the questions to ask, and be able to dig into the details.
  • Develop a strong partnership with business line leaders, IT members, and the operations team. Understand the business/process making sure the technology delivery is seamless.
  • Communicate technical issues to a non-tech audience and to be an effective bridge from business to technology.
  • Effectively plan and track multiple large and/or complex projects and communicate status to management and project teams. Identify problem areas and alternative solutions.
  • Listen, learn, adapt, share, and advance ideas that support the vision of an elite infrastructure.
  • Fosters a risk management culture through implementation and demonstration of processes and procedures which identify and mitigate risk.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
