About the position
A DBA at Covenant Eyes will plan, help coordinate and participate in all activities related to the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the enterprise test, preproduction, and production databases.
A DBA can also provide architectural vision with regards to new database setups in addition to analysis and problem solving within our existing technology space. This role, guided by CE Systems Architects, applies and develops technologies and processes, from proof-of-concept and reference implementations through to production systems.
This position is also responsible for the hands-on management and support of existing technology solutions, and for technical definition and delivery of new solutions and tools, both internal and customer facing.
Responsibilities
  • Configuring, maintaining, monitoring, optimizing, and supporting CE s high availability and geographically dispersed databases
  • Installing and testing database software upgrades
  • Developing, documenting, and communicating standards for use, operations, and security of databases and data
  • Analyzing business requirements to identify and implement database and replication solutions
  • Participating in a monthly on-call rotation
  • Performing Business Analytics and Data Mining
  • Troubleshooting and correcting database issues
  • Participating in systems implementation projects
  • Working alongside and being highly responsive and communicative with cross functional teams, including Developers, Systems Engineers, User Experience Practitioners, and Quality Assurance Practitioners
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with MariaDB, Percona, or MySQL
  • MySQL stored procedures & functions, triggers, views
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex ETL pipelines using tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Apache NiFi etc.
  • Query design and performance tuning
  • Data modeling and design
  • Oracle Linux (RHEL 7 or newer (and variants))
  • Shell scripting
  • The majority of your time will be spent at a desk using a phone, computer and monitor, and general office equipment. You may be required to reach with hands and arms; sit; stand; talk and hear; use your hands to finger, handle, or feel.
