Power BI Engineer / Analyst

• Direct Hire: Must be a USC**
• Location: Falls Church, VA - requires onsite first 90 days, then 1X per week on Wednesdays

Optomi, in partnership with a government client, is seeking a Power BI Engineer to join their team! As a Power BI Developer, you will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards to support our data analytics initiatives. This role will involve transforming complex datasets into understandable and insightful visualizations, assisting in decision-making processes across various departments.

About the Position:

1. Tech stack: Full cloud - Azure
2. PowerBI
3. Database: mySQL, flat files in SharePoint
4. Ability to query SQL - know about data types and not expect someone to send them data.
5. Scribe for ETL - more point and click, want to move to Azure pipelines

Must Have Skills/ Requirements:

1. Strong communication + requirements gathering experience – need to be able to work with the c-suite as that is who they are building reports for
2. 3+ years of data visualization experience, strong preference in PowerBI
3. SQL querying
