We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join their New Energy team based in Houston. Reporting directly to the Head of US Gulf Coast Ammonia Development, you will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering team to progress this exciting opportunity. The role is primarily based in the Houston office but may require some travel.

Key Responsibilities:

– Provide overall design leadership and manage the engineering team responsible for the ammonia development project.
– Manage and influence engineering and licensor contractors to deliver value for the company.
– Approve technical aspects, including facility basis of design, key decisions, interfaces, and external scopes.
– Demonstrate process safety leadership, applying the hierarchy of control and inherently safer design principles.
– Support senior stakeholder engagement across the business.
– Drive value creation by optimizing for the lowest facility cost of supply.
– Develop and maintain subject matter expert relationships, both internally and externally.
– Ensure compliance with Company and relevant Industry Standards and Procedures.
– Manage assessments and implementation of new technologies.
– Promote knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and collaboration.

Required Skills and Experience:

– Minimum 15 years of experience, with a qualification in Engineering (process or mechanical preferred).
– Previous experience leading a team as an Engineering Manager.
– Experience in industrial gas (e.g., hydrogen, ammonia, or hydrocarbon processing).
– Previous experience on ammonia or gas-to-liquids facilities is desirable.
– Demonstrated commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and effective engagement abilities.
– Strong communication and influencing skills with business leaders at a senior level.
– Ability to work independently and in a team, optimizing business outcomes and solving complex problems.
– Ability to work across non-technical teams and support functions (finance, commercial, power, etc.).
– Track record in risk-based decision making, high grading key issues, and managing resources.
– Knowledge of relevant industry standards.
