Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Engineer to join our C&I division. This individual will act as a technical sales partner for the C&I Sales Manager – Eastern US. Responsibilities include acting as the technical expert for all pre-sales C&I project design and scoping, partnering with customers to design systems to meet their specific needs, fostering strong customer relationships, supporting new bids, and leading the solution engineering work critical to converting bids to wins. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the energy storage industry and be capable of managing complex projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage sales skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts in a customer-friendly manner.
  • Provide technical consultation to customers regarding system solutions.
  • Assist sales in pre-sales calls by validating project specifications and feasibility.
  • Work with the Product Engineering team to create and maintain a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and scope of supply.
  • Review customer designs for accuracy and alignment with company standards.
  • Assist with quoting projects and ensuring technical requirements are met.
  • Participate in customer training webinars and on-site training sessions.
  • Provide technical support during trade shows and promotional events.
  • Coordinate with the Product Engineering team to ensure new product compatibility with customer projects.
  • Maintain engineering documentation related to customer projects.

Oversee and manage energy storage projects from lead generation through purchase order, then manage hand-off to project engineering team upon purchase order

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy storage industry, with a focus on Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects.
  • Strong knowledge of energy storage systems (ESS), microgrid controllers, and energy management systems (EMS).
  • Proven experience managing complex projects from start to finish, including budget management and technical coordination.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, NEC, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or marketing events as needed (up to 30% travel)
