Akkodis is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer at the Grand Rapids, MI location. Ideally, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to execute the analysis and evaluation of aerospace projects, ensuring they meet technical and program requirements. This role involves collaboration within the engineering team, adhering to industry standards, and ensuring proper documentation of technical data.
Pay Rate: $60-65/hr
Type: 18 months contract
Responsibilities:
- Execute the analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles, in line with aerospace standards, practices, and product requirements.
- Evaluate program technical requirements and provide input for design solutions.
- Document technical data generated for assigned projects in compliance with engineering policies and procedures.
- Communicate timely and effectively on significant issues or developments to stakeholders.
- Participate in technical and program reviews as a presenter or reviewer, contributing to the project's success.
- Ensure accurate documentation of technical data generated by yourself and other team members.
- Prepare data reports for thermal, vibration, and other environmental analyses.
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews, providing mechanical inputs for product development.
Top Skills and Requirements:
- NX experience - Proficiency in using Siemens NX for mechanical design.
- Windchill experience - Familiarity with PTC Windchill for product lifecycle management.
- Design of Electronics Packaging experience - Expertise in designing mechanical enclosures and packaging for electronic components.
