This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.  The Quality Engineer may perform other duties, as needed, to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Summary:

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Quality operations, including but not limited to identifying the root causes of problems and instituting corrective actions. They also proactively recommend solutions that will improve product durability and overall performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

      Comply with standard Corporate Quality policies and procedures

      Develop and implement quality standards as part of PENCOM's Quality Management System (QMS)

      Lead problem-solving cross functional teams; use of Quality Assurance methodologies to manage and facilitate issues resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions

      Support the development of PPAP's and review of PPAP's from suppliers

      Lead and facilitate the review and disposition of discrepant parts identified from DMR's and Non-Conformances

      Review of First Article Inspection reports, both internally and externally

      Able to use Minitab for statistical analysis (Gauge R&R, capability analysis and SPC)

      Review current blueprints and quality documentation

      Conduct training of QA concepts and tools as needed

      Set and track quality assurance goals (e.g., reduce average turnaround time for quality checks by 20%)

      Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance

      Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products

      Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice by management

Skills/Knowledge Required:

      Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role

      Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies

      In-depth understanding of technical documentation, blueprint reading and GD&T

      Previous experience with PPAP, PFMEA, APQP, Control Plans

      Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

      Strong communication and interpersonal skills (team spirit - interact and collaborate with various departments, customers, and all levels of employees)

      Good analytical skills

      Excellent project management skills

      Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills

      Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience/Education Required:

      College degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field

      Minimum 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role

      Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus

      ASQ certification preferred
