Early Contract Involvement presence offering clients long-term relationships, providing integrated schedules, realistic construction estimates, and construction driven execution planning.LocationThis position will be based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX and will need to have the ability to travel to support OGC projects on-site.ResponsibilitiesManage and direct multi-discipline engineering teams by collaborating, setting direction and expectations, coordinating with procurement and construction districtsMaintain overall ownership of engineering execution to meet project milestones and objectivesSupport project change management processes to ensure the project scope of work, schedule and budgets are clearly defined and understoodEstablish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering work; determine and oversee engineering project controls, schedules and budgetsServe as engineering representative with customers, constructors, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, job walks, project reviews, and other project stakeholder engagementsCoordinate training and compliance measures to ensure engineering procedures are followedMaintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders, making adjustments as necessary to comply with project needs within contractual obligations, or adjust engineering deliverables to meet customer needsEnsure all work products are consistent with industry codes and standards and in accordance with good engineering practiceProvide training and mentoring to mid-level and senior engineers and/or project engineers to promote employee developmentUtilize Kiewit’s unique project controls environment along with industry execution knowledge and fundamental practices to manage engineering progress and performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management in any discipline from a four-year college or universityAdvanced degrees or certifications a plusAt least 7+ years’ related field or project engineering experience and/or training, specifically in the oil, gas, and chemical industryCompetent in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint and OutlookWorking knowledge and understanding of project controls terminology and project scheduling processesProfessional Engineer License (desirable)Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organizational skills, time management, and knowing when to dive into details without losing site of the project objective.#LI-TD28Other Requirements:• Regular, reliable attendance• Work productively and meet deadlines timely• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.• Perform work safely and effectively.
