Automation and Controls Engineer

Location: Gunter, TX Facility (on-site role)
This team member assists in serving as the subject mechanical expert for all our manufacturing facilities' equipment. They will collaborate closely with equipment manufacturers to develop a thorough understanding of the machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

• Act as the mechanical subject matter expert for all manufacturing equipment in our facilities.
• Work extensively with equipment manufacturers to learn every aspect of the equipment
• Ensure all equipment performs at an optimal level to support production
• Work with local production and maintenance teams to provide training and support for proper operation of the equipment
• Participate in capital projects as a subject matter expert
• Troubleshooting/commissioning experience with servo drives, VFD drives, motors, and encoders.
• Hands-on experience testing sensors, actuators, and other field devices.
• Basic networking knowledge for troubleshooting connections to plant control systems.

EDUCATION

• A four-year college degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or a related field, as well as or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE

• 1 year in Manufacturing Environment (Required)
• Troubleshooting an industrial plant's automation control system: (4 Years Preferred)
• Understanding of Siemens PLCs
• Expertise in wiring, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Capable of changing wiring schematics in CAD.
