Controls Engineer

Role: Controls Engineer

Location: Hybrid - Richland Township, MI, 49083

Duration: 2+ Years Long-term Contract

Scope of Position:

• This will be a hybrid work assignment with the candidate working remotely and traveling to the project site as necessary. Initially the project will be in Michigan.
• A senior controls engineer responsible for providing hands-on electrical support for the installation, start-up, and debug manufacturing process equipment. This includes working with a multi-functional team (mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, operations, etc.)
• Involves commissioning PLCs, drives, sensors, and HMIs across a large integrated manufacturing line

Requirements:

• Experience with automated equipment design, installation, start-up and debugging in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Familiar with the design and programming of PLC systems primarily Allen Bradley ControlLogix
• Studio 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View
• Configuration and setup of ControlLogix PLC
• Ethernet IP communication
• HMI SCADA iFix– minor changes and troubleshooting

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal travel (less than 25%)
• Travel to Client plant sites as needed to support projects
• Travel to a supplier or vendor may be required for equipment check-out before shipment.

Work Schedule: Typical 40 hours per week. May require working weekends/holidays or longer days to support the installation schedule
