Sr. Satellite Systems Engineer

Your Mission On The Team

1. Develop and manage the trade space of satellite designs across a variety of mission concepts. Tasks include:
1. Systems modelling
2. Cost estimation
3. Generating and maintaining performance budgets
4. Component selection
5. Vendor evaluation
6. Managing high-level electrical, mechanical, and data interfaces
7. Generating and maintaining interface control documents
8. Risk assessment
2. Contribute to the development of satellite constellation architectures
3. Work with design and test engineering to generate test plans
4. Estimation of development schedules

Qualifications

1. 5+ years professional design/development experience in satellite systems
2. Skill in using and creating software tools to model systems performance across a variety of disciplines (MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc.)
3. Strong understanding of satellite technologies, design principles, and concepts of operations
4. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, or related field
5. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
6. Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills where necessary
7. Passion for understanding complexity and finding answers to challenging questions

Ideal Qualifications

1. 7+ years professional design/development experience in satellite systems
2. Master's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, or related field
3. Previous experience with spacecraft and/or space mission top level design
4. Previous work on small LEO satellites
5. Breadth of experience leading satellite systems development and testing
6. Experience with creating satellite simulations and models
7. Satellite operations experience

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $200,000.00

The base salary offered to a successful candidate will be determined on a case-by-case basis and influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and scope of the position.
