Job Summary:

Provide Robot, PLC, and HMI programming for machine control systems as well as field support and troubleshooting both on-site and remotely. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additional responsibilities include technical support for manufacturing, in-house build, and field support of automotive test systems.


Qualifications:

  • BSE with emphasis on controls or robotics systems or demonstrate knowledge of robotic control system concepts used in the automation industry.
  • 3+ years' experience is preferred.
  • PLC experience: Allen Bradley is preferred.
  • Understanding of industrial networking.
  • Understanding of pneumatic designs.
  • Robotic experience: Fanuc is preferred (CR_COBOT, CRX and DCS); Kuka, Motoman and ABB are a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30-40%)
  • Ability to solve problems using electrical prints, mechanical prints, and technical. documentation.
  • Ability to quickly learn new and legacy machines.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program robots and PLC controls with minimal assistance.
  • Program and troubleshoot robot systems by working with the assembly and engineering team.
  • Ability to instruct Field Service Engineers in the operations and startup of machinery and robotic controls.
  • Ability to instruct Field Service Engineers in the operations and startup of machinery and robots.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Provide support for new and existing equipment.
  • Lead machine startups and coordination of installation services.
  • Ability to train other robotic engineers and control engineers.


Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work closely within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
