RF Engineer, Senior (Radar)

This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule after completing the initial training period. Tasks for this position must be performed largely on-site but may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule for later assignments.

Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an excellent opportunity for an RF Engineer, Senior (Radar). This individual will perform engineering functions to design, develop, modify, integrate, and test new subsystems on mono-pulse tracking radars on the Western Test Range. This position will lead an engineering team with the technical aspects of projects and support multi-disciplined project teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and execute new capabilities used by tracking radars.
2. Perform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution.
3. Plan, conduct, and assist the project manager in the execution of engineering projects.
4. Coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projects.
5. Analyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet customer requirements.
6. Serve as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers.
7. Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
8. Provide expertise to restore operational systems.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM-related major.
2. 2+ years of relevant radar engineering experience to include:

• Experience working with RF, including local oscillators, doublers, mixers, and attenuators.
• Working knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems a plus.
• Experience working with high-power tube and solid-state RF amplifiers.
• Experience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems desired.
• Familiar with legacy range radar types (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16, etc.) desired.
• Working knowledge of antenna tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Experience with digital interface design, including familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types, and connector systems.
2. Experience with hardware systems integration and testing.
3. Experience providing inputs for engineering project proposals within defined time constraints.
4. Proficient in the use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
5. Proficient in technical writing for development of technical reports, White Papers, and other technical support documentation.
6. Experience with computer systems including single-board (SBCs), servers, and workstations.
7. Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems.
8. Proficient with M/S Office tool suite and CAD software.
9. The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
10. Ability to effectively communicate technical issues verbally and through written media such as graphical slides and verbal presentations to management and customers.
11. Ability to read and create wire diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
12. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
13. Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
14. Good human relations and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and to guide less experienced engineers.
15. Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time constraints.
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
