They are responsible for overseeing the full system/product development life-cycle and include responsibilities from contract review, development, installation, customer interface, and support.Essential Functions:Provides technical project management and leadership for Surface Acoustic and Integrated System projectsSupports engineering execution within the business area (cost, schedule, technical)Lead engineering system-development tasks including preliminary design, design, integration, and formal testing.Be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling technical aspects of programs to schedules and budgets and act as an advisor to technical staff members to resolve issues.Ensures readiness for design reviews within business areaEnsures engineering initiatives are adopted within the business areaPartners with key functional leaders in addressing cross-functional process interdependencies. Documents objectives, cross-functional intersections, execution steps and escalation protocolsLeads new product development and technical innovationSupports Segment System Engineering in process improvement, performance and quality metrics, training and new initiative rolloutDrives detailed IRAD planning, monthly status, and change processEngineering POC for IRAD accomplishments, issues, highlights, weekly status within the business areaSupports new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness, Design to Cost and resource alignmentSupports and reviews engineering estimates and proposal inputsServe as a Control Account Manager over large segments of major programsAdvocates for continuous learning and provides development through training, cross-training and mentoringQualifications:In-depth knowledge of project management and systems engineering philosophiesFamiliarity with the Software and System Design and Development processes under SEI Capability Maturity Model – Integrated (CMMI) including system documentation, specification, acceptance testing, and requirements traceability.Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Windows interface, Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio). Working knowledge of project management systems.Familiarity with cost-based accounting systems. Ability to perform financial analysis of projects and cost estimating. Experience working as a Control Account Manager.Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or directionCommunicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approachesProvides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional resultsWillingness to travelMust be able to obtain a security clearanceBachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
