Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and implementation of high-quality software solutions for the healthcare industry.
2. Foster a collaborative, success-oriented team environment where resources are utilized effectively and innovation is encouraged.
3. Maintain a deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the medical software field and provide guidance to the team in these areas.
4. Work closely with other departments, including product management, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure that software solutions meet client needs and expectations.
5. Establish and monitor key performance metrics for the software engineering team and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
6. Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget.
7. Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities.
8. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including HIPAA and FDA regulations for medical software.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
3. Proven experience in the medical or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
4. Strong knowledge of modern software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
5. Proficient in a variety of programming languages including React (must have). We use Python for backend but are open to candidates experienced with other backend languages.
6. Demonstrated ability to lead a team of software engineers and drive the successful completion of complex projects.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
9. Familiarity with regulatory standards and requirements in the medical software field, including HIPAA and FDA regulations.
10. A passion for improving healthcare through technology.
