Job PurposeExperienced and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Assembler. Responsible for assembling, fitting, and testing mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications. Your expertise in mechanical assembly, technical skills, and meticulous attention to detail will contribute to the successful production and delivery of high-quality aerospace products.Duties and responsibilitiesPerform complex mechanical assembly tasks according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Assemble and fit mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems using various tools, equipment, and techniques.Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies.Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems or assembly errors and propose effective solutions. Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on design improvements and enhance overall product performance.Accurately document assembly processes, test results, and any deviations or modifications made during the assembly. Generate reports and maintain comprehensive records of assembly activities, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects. Provide guidance and support to junior assemblers when needed.Ensure tools used are calibration and equipment used are in proper working order and report any issues for repair or replacement.Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times. Promote a safe working environment and identify potential hazards. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality. Provide input on assembly techniques, tooling, and workflow optimization to streamline operations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in the aerospace industry. Experience with complex assemblies, precision components, and aerospace standards is highly desirable.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with various assembly tools, measuring instruments, and equipment. Ability to analyze complex mechanical issues, propose effective solutions, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement improvements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, follow instructions, and provide guidance to junior assemblers.Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience working in a safety-oriented environment.Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
