The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of all operational and reporting database systems. This role is focused on all back end data processing. They have completed all of the analysis and this role will be working with very large data sets approaching 1 Billion rows to process the data for other groups including the BI team.

Job Duties

• Deep experience in developing high volume, scalable, data-intensive database systems.
• Designs and develops operational and reporting database systems utilizing the latest techniques in data modeling and ETL concepts.
• Models database solutions and ensure quality assurance and timely delivery of data.
• Investigates, troubleshoots and corrects data and user related system errors, and ensures data integrity.
• Excellent knowledge of data transformations of all types including calling custom scripts, applying complex logic etc.
• Translates stakeholder requirements from formal requirements document into database design.

Education and Work Experience

• Deep experience in developing high volume, scalable, data-intensive database systems.

• MS Synapse Dedicated Workspace (which incorporates Dedicated SQL Pools and Notebooks)
• Dedicated SQL Pools (previously called Azure SQL DW and/or MS Synapse )
• T-SQL (Must be able to code from scratch) - stored procedures, ETL
