Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects and resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.
- Plan and develop projects or design activities with a significant impact on major company programs as needed.
- Plan, organize, and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians.
- Mentor and help develop younger staff.
- Put together a full set of Contract Documents (plans and specifications) that are constructible and meet client(s) standards as applicable.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building and/or other industrial structure design.
- PE or SE.
- Microsoft Office, REVIT, RAM, STAAD, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software that utilizes finite element analysis.
- Experience in design calculations and layouts.
- Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis preferred.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- Preference given to local Texas candidates.
- REVIT modeling and working experience.
