( Summary: The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for the support & optimization of manufacturing processes and equipment operations within an injection molding manufacturing environment. This key role has a direct impact on product quality, production capability, operating costs and overall safety through technical leadership and innovation. The Manufacturing Process Engineer works as a part of a cross functional team to achieve performance goals, and to drive continuous improvement throughout the process.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain manufacturing processes and systems for a food grade plastics injection molding environment.Develops product and process capability, performance measurements, control systems, quality standard.Uses critical thinking and problem-solving methodologies for issue resolution and process improvement. These may include utilizing such tools as statistical methods, Pareto charts, flow charting and failure mode effects analysis and other relevant methodologies (Six Sigma, SPC, Designed Experiments, etc...).Ensures compliance with all corporate and plant safety policiesProvides leadership direction, coaching, and training for all process teamPlan and direct the efforts of the process technicians in investigating and resolving manufacturing or quality issues, making recommendations for preventive action, optimizing current products and processes and commercializing new productsEstablish and maintain a process and quality assurance audit function to ensure compliance to standards andDevelop corrective action plans and systemsDirect efforts in gaining and maintaining knowledge of trends in the industry that lead to improvements in product quality, product consistency, process efficiency or cost reductionsWork with the plant teams to define process specifications, which include machinery set-ups, operating conditions, set points, tolerances, processing procedures and packaging specifications, based on a strong understanding of customerAssist in preparation of capital expenditure requests to improve existing operations, increase efficiencies, improve product quality or commercialize newServes as a resource on plant technologies, control systems, and rawInitiates and assists with implementation of process control improvements using DMAIC planning process.Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion andEnsures plans are in place to meet all performance indicator targets/goals.May include other responsibilities as assignedQualificationsBS in Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7 years in process, maintenance, or operations roles in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in injection molding and/or automation is a substantialSelf-driven, motivated and capable.Competency in employee engaged peopleExceptional analytical and problem-solvingExcellent interpersonal effectiveness to support our team-based cultureMust possess a passion for excellence and the desire to succeedWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
