Sr. Fire Protection Designer

As a Sr. Tesla Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for fire sprinkler design utilizing HydraCAD and BIM coordination of the following systems: Wet and Dry Fire Sprinkler System; Pre-action and Deluge Fire Sprinkler System; Water Mist; Foam; Automatic Standpipes; and Fire Pumps. You will utilize CAD/REVIT software to provide support to Self-Perform Construction Team by preparing routine layouts of fire sprinkler systems, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams.
Responsibilities

• Review documents and coordinate internally with the design team/construction and possible subcontractors to gather the required information to design the projects sprinkler system
• Create detailed drawings through extensive use of HydraCAD
• Submit packages for review and approval to AHJ for permit
• Involved in BIM coordination
• Perform hydraulic calculations
• Create stock lists for all material required throughout the project
• Maintain design historical records for future use

Requirements

• Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience
• NICET Level II or higher or Fire Protection Engineer certifications required
• Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, HydraCAD (or similar), REVIT and Navisworks
• Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines
• 4 or more years of experience in commercial and industrial design
• Strong communication skills
• Willing to coordinate and collaborate with others
