Zoox's Hardware Software Integration team is responsible for ensuring various hardware subsystems work reliably on our vehicle platform on a day-to-day basis. As a Release Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating and managing the software release processes within the Hardware Software Integration team. This role is crucial for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software packages used in testing and developing Zoox Robotaxi. As a key player on the critical path for our major release cycles, you will drive continuous improvements in our testing frameworks and deployment strategies, significantly impacting our program’s success.
In this role, you will:
- Establish, optimize, and manage a variety of operational processes, including release and change management.
- Develop and maintain automation pipelines and tools for hardware and software integration and deployment.
- Implement automated regression testing and oversee software releases for quality and timeliness.
- Create reports and dashboards for real-time testing and system performance insights, and automate routine development tasks.
Qualifications
- Proficient in designing and developing software in Python on a Linux-based environment.
- Knowledgeable in building, testing, and deploying software automation pipelines.
- Understanding of network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving and innovation skills within the software development life cycle.
- Experienced in using GitHub for version control and Jira for effective project and task management.
Bonus Qualifications
- Capable of leading projects and driving initiatives in a cross-functional setting.
- Effective cross-team collaborator with experience working across manufacturing and service teams.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $215,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
