Aerospace Engineer, AST, Pyrotechnic Systems (Direct Hire)

The Energy Conversion Systems Branch (EP3) is currently seeking a candidate to serve as a Pyrotechnics Engineer and Project Manager. You will have knowledge of pyrotechnic systems, pyrotechnic devices, and firing circuits and be responsible for project management execution and leadership for the projects comprising the pyrotechnics portfolio, including managing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure design, development, testing, verification, and certification activities.

To qualify for GS-14 , you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

1. Providing Subject Matter Expertise for pyrotechnic components such as initiators, detonators, safe and arm (S&A) devices, explosive transfer lines (ETL), shaped charges, frangible devices, riser cutters, cartridge actuated devices/propellant actuated devices (CAD/PAD), and mechanically actuated devices;
2. Providing project management and controls as applied to successful management of a project to baseline requirements, schedule, cost phasing, or resources;
3. Communicating and integrating across organizational or programmatic boundaries, at all technical and managerial levels, in either verbal or written form.
