Position Description
We are transforming our business to ensure that technology provides a competitive advantage in every product or service that we offer. From the integration of AI and machine learning across our product base to leveraging infinitely scalable cloud-based operating models, we will use technology to drive deeper insights, enhance productivity, and offer best-in-class capabilities for customers and partners.
As part of our continuing strategy to grow and transition to a data-driven organization, we are adding an Analytics Engineer to our team. You will be creating data models with DBT, working with Snowflake, and establishing data quality, test, and governance best practices across our businesses. The Analytics Engineer will help drive the adoption of our data governance/glossary tool to aid in building a data-informed culture at Credit Strong.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Creating and maintaining efficient and logic business data models for internal stakeholders.
  • Improving the efficiency of others by combining disparate data sources into logical business representations and making insights and extractions as simple as clicking a button.
  • Curation of cloud certified datasets based upon business requirements.
  • Architecting and maintaining ELT pipelines in a cloud environment with DBT and Bitbucket/git.
  • Creation of ad hoc and curated SQL queries for personal or distributed business use through a data governance and cataloguing tool.

Requirements & Skills:
General:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Analyst or Data Engineer (less if in a Sr. role).
  • 2+ years experience in a CI/CD environment, preferably in conjunction with DBT.
  • A well-rounded individual who is generally curious about data and doesn't just take orders but is adept at drawing conclusions and recommending actions based upon the analysis they perform.
  • Someone with a creative drive who knows how to intelligently and logically manipulate data in ways that others may not find intuitive.
  • Experience explaining structures and models to peers, supervisors, executives, and generic business users.
Technical:
  • Expertise in SQL query development (5+ years with T-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake).
  • Deep knowledge of time intelligence and manipulation.
  • 2+ years experience with CI/CD via Git or other version control software.
  • Experience with DBT preferred, including creating tests for data quality and efficacy.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration concepts and able to explain different methods for orchestration of pipelines
  • Exposure to data governance principles, including data lineage and data cataloguing, bonus for working with a cloud data governance tool (Alation, data.world, Atlan, Castor, etc).
  • Familiarity with or exposure to at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sisense, etc).
  • Experience with Snowflake, ThoughtSpot, or Python preferred, but not required.

Required Skills : SQL and DBT(data build tool) Candidate must be local to Austin, TX or willing to relocate to Austin, TX to work onsite.
