Senior Data Engineer

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of data engineering experience
  2. Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  3. Experience with SQL
  4. Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  5. Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Set the technical strategy for the team
  2. Lead complex technical initiatives within the team
  3. Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table
  4. Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture.
  5. Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments.
  6. Build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writing
  7. Continuously optimize solutions to improve overall Platform performance, availability and fault tolerance
  8. Drive Operational excellence through metrics driven approach
  9. Understand customer pain points, build solutions to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by applications and teams
  10. Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity, deep technical understanding through collaboration, code reviews, and leading by example.
  11. Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  12. Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
