Job Description:
The client is requesting local candidates for this position. The work requirements are that this individual is onsite a minimum of 2 days/per week at the 1000 E. Grand Ave location.
The Department of Management is looking to hire an experienced PL/SQL Developer for Iowa Workforce Developments UI Tax Project.
Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is a state agency committed to providing unemployment insurance for claimants and employment services for job seekers, including re-employment programs. IWD is looking to hire an experienced PL/SQL Developer for the UI Tax Project. This individual will be part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical applications using Agile methodologies. The project aims to enhance IWD's UI Tax system by implementing functionality with the goal of providing better service to both the agency staff and the end-users. The ideal candidate is a leader and strong team contributor who is eager to learn and develop their craft as a software professional and will find great satisfaction in the patient pursuit of excellence. This individual will be responsible for gathering requirements, facilitating requirements sessions with business stakeholders and providing quality.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Analyze requirements and create performance, scalable database structures, objects and stored procedures
• Analyze, create and tune complex SQL code to ensure optimal performance and data integrity across very large data sets
• Troubleshoot database performance issues in an Oracle environment
• Must have experience with Performance Tuning. Proficiency with SQL & PL/SQL.
• Review and tune code to ensure best practices, quality standards and data integrity
• Design and implement approaches to improve database performance, capacity, and scalability
• Confer with appropriate managers and peer team members regarding problems with and capabilities of databases
• Experience in migrating from Oracle to MySQL or Postgres is a plus
• Experience with Oracle database, Elasticsearch, GitLab, MySQL, PostgreSQL a plus
• Experince with database migration to a cloud environment is a plus
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Work within a collaborative Agile environment
