Job Title: Senior Hardware EngineerOrganization & RoleWe are seeking a key technical contributor to join the DC Hardware Development team at Teradyne. The DC HW team drives the concept, design, implementation, release to production, and customer adoption of new high power and precision ATE instrumentation,Typical ATE instruments include high performance power supplies, high power VI (Source Measure Units – SMU) and high-speed digital for the semiconductor PMIC, mobile application and automotive markets.Typical design challenges include power amplifiers, high density POLs, high speed digital, high performance data converter, system design, high voltage and current design, thermal design, high precision/accuracy designs, complex calibration schemes, design for reliability, design for cost targets, and driving system level trade-offs.Responsibilities include all aspects of instrument design from concept, prototyping, simulation, schematic and layout, verification, documentation, and release to manufacturing.Opportunity OverviewKey Skill AreasHigh level of proficiency designing complex circuits with analog, digital, and powerParticipate in technical teams in a disciplined approach to design that proceeds efficiently from analysis, simulation, prototyping, verification and product releaseAbility to interface productively with large and diverse cross functional teams (within all engineering disciplines: SW, FPGA, Mechanical, QA, Factory Applications, etc, and also outside engineering: Marketing, PMO, NPI, etc.)Clearly articulate design trade-offs available to navigate complex design challengesMentoring/coaching junior engineersExcellent communication skills at all levels of abstraction (from detailed circuit analysis with other engineers, to high level product design approaches to senior leadership)All About YouExperience with as many of the following areas is a plus:New product development with complex designs and PCBs, high current density, high speed design, complex mixed signalLow noise switching power supply designPOL designHigh speed signal integrity, power integrityHigh speed protocols (PCIe), DDRx memory, and clockingProficiency with circuit simulationControl loop theory and stabilityAnalog filter designBasic understanding of the ATE industryHigh performance instrumentation designLow noise amplifier designMitigation of system level conducted/radiated noise issuesStatistical Process ControlDevelopment of calibration programs and algorithms using C/C+HW error budgets using statistical analysis techniques and calibration strategiesBasic Qualifications & SkillsProven track record of completing multiple product design cycles from concept to high volume production10+ years of relevant industry experienceEducationBSEE or MSEE or equivalent experience​​​​​​​#LI-JL2Please note: There is no budget for international relocation.Current openings may involve access to export controlled technology and may be subject to export licensing requirements prior to employment.
