Job Requirements / Description

SUMMARY: Define, develop, and oversee the implementation of new manufacturing processes primarily for connectors and cable assemblies, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality while ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with design engineering on new products and special manufacturing process requirements
  • Review Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW) for compliance and implementation of new procedures
  • Assist with developing cost/pricing strategy for SSOW compliance
  • Evaluate existing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering on problem analysis and implementing solutions
  • Implement cost savings and quality improvement projects
  • Utilize design software to develop tooling and fixtures
  • Conduct vendor assessments and audits
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability review and feedback to product engineering
  • Determine accurate manufacturing costs for new process implementations or improvements
  • Identify and implement cost savings, calculating anticipated savings and return on investment
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma techniques in qualification and problem solving
  • Interface with customers and organizational bodies as manufacturing engineering representative
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Requires a Bachelor's degree, technical writing, presentation skills, lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and digital factory connectivity. Ability to work with mathematical concepts and define problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly sit, stand, talk, hear, walk, and use hands. May be required to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with less than 5% travel.
