Magna New Mobility is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Testing to lead the design, development, and maintenance of automation frameworks and scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing. As a Senior Test Engineer with cloud experience, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure. Your expertise in cloud platforms will be crucial in optimizing our infrastructure and deploying solutions that leverage cloud-native features.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing. Implement automated tests across web, mobile, and backend services.
- Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to deploy, manage, and automate test runs.
- Identify and highlight performance bottlenecks using automated synthetic workloads.
- Test software components with physical hardware devices such as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and ensure overall functional objectives are met. Build test plans that involve hardware in the loop.
- Work with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and build test automation strategies. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to SaaS and on-prem infrastructure. Provide support for production environments and ensure high availability.
Who we are looking for
- 7+ years of experience in backend development with a strong focus on cloud technologies. Prior experience working in a start-up environment or product development from scratch will be a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Certifications: Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate) are a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go lang, Python, Node.js, C/C++ or Java. Strong experience in testing APIs such as REST, gRPC, GraphQL and hands-on experience with Linux. Experience working with robotics automation is a plus.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra). Working knowledge of messaging queues like Kafka, SQS, Rabbit MQ etc.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Expertise in test automation frameworks such as TestNG, Selenium, Playwright etc.
Your preferred qualifications
This role is required to work hybrid 3 days onsite per week in our Lowell, MA office.
