A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Backend Cloud Developer in Deerfield, Illinois (IL). The Innovation team is seeking a talented software engineer to design, develop, validate, and deploy software solutions enabling remote monitoring techniques for a unique consumer-centric, technology-enabled ecosystem. The mission of the Innovation team is to simplify the healthcare experience by delivering personalized healthcare solutions through an integrated omnichannel platform to improve health outcomes, enhance the consumer experience, and lower healthcare costs. This Backend Cloud Developer will support innovation projects from inception to completion by leveraging their technical expertise in Android/IOS development, supporting all aspects of back-end development, from receipt of RPM data from partner clouds or devices, processing, storage, and support for front-end retrieval or other internal or external endpoints. The individual can expect to determine design approaches and parameters, conduct experimental tests, evaluate results, and select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability, and technologies. They may also review vendor capability to support product development.
Responsibilities include:
- Designs, develops, and tests software controlling RPM devices; Network/cloud subsystems or Android/IOS mobile applications in support of RPM, in collaboration with the product team and other device engineers.
- Engages in all phases of new product including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, and 3rd party interfaces.
- May use test equipment, such as logic analyzers, multimeters, JTAG units, etc., to solve hardware/software issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field; Master's degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience working in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Experience with software design, development, debug, and test practices.
- Experience working with at least 2 of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, Obj-C, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Scala.
- Demonstrates knowledge of embedded software.
- Knowledge and experience with at least one of the following: RTOSs and device drivers (Zephyr, Free RTOS, etc.) or cloud-based networking technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP) or application and/or application framework development.
Preferred
- Experience in at least one of the following: Android/IOS application development, including UI development.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud development and Wireless sensing device development.
- Detailed knowledge and extensive experience implementing wireless solutions communicating with various medical sensing and wearable devices.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
