YOUR ROLE AS PART OF THE TENTAMUS TEAM

Under the direction of the Tentamus Global Software Development Team, the Software Developer Lead is responsible for managing the U.S.-based development team, offering guidance, feedback, and support to ensure team efficiency and project success. This role also ensures adherence to coding standards, oversees the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and leverages strong technical expertise in programming languages and software architecture, while collaborating closely with other departments and stakeholders. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Direct and participate in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions to align with business needs, overseeing the full development process including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices, coding standards, and security protocols are followed, while collaborating with cross-functional teams (product managers, DevOps, and QA) to meet project deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, document technical specifications, and evaluate emerging technologies for process improvements.
  • Assume wider responsibility for software implementations across Tentamus North America, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance through strategic design decisions.
  • Manage a team of software developers, including performance evaluations, task assignment, and providing ongoing support and development opportunities.

TO EXCEL AS THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPER LEAD

Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship, hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (A Master's degree is preferred), and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills. Other qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role; experience in implementing LIMS Solutions and/or experience in a laboratory sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript, Python). Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience with cloud-based services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with database management systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, microservices architecture, and API development.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks and familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Angular) or mobile app development.

POSITION TYPE & SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, Monday - Friday, Hybrid-Remote position, and occasionally requires evening/weekend work for performance tests or software rollouts. Collaboration with other departments and teams is required. Domestic travel less than 25% may also be required.

This position typically operates in an office environment, yet we offer flexibility for remote work depending on organizational needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to hold or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit at a desk working on a computer. Specific vision abilities include near distance, far distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
