OverviewBowhead is seeking a Engineering Technician to support the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).ResponsibilitiesSupport the preparation of metallic powders for consolidation, such as loading hot isostatic press (HIP) cans, equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) blanks, and spark plasma sintering (SPS) dies using a glove box under a controlled atmosphereSetup, operate, and maintain TIG, MIG, and/or gas welding systems; setup, operate, and maintain a HIP, ECAE system, and SPS system to achieve desired microstructure evolution and material propertiesConduct post-processing annealing treatmentsAssist in HIP can and SPS die design for improved consolidation, which may involve use of a coordinate measuring machine;In addition, the technician will be expected to communicate clearly and proactively with team members, follow all safety protocols, and contribute to the development of quality assurance protocols.QualificationsAssociate’s degree in engineering technology, materials science, or related fieldsProficiency in welding using TIG, MIG, and gas welding systemsExperience with high-temperature furnacesProficient use of Office 365 applications for data entry, documentation, and basic data analysisAbility to work in a team environment with strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.Must maintain certification/license to operate Bowhead and Government vehiclesDesired Skills:Experience with hot isostatic press, spark plasma sintering, and equal channel angular extrusion systems.Experience with laser systems and coordinate measurement machinesExperience with data analysisExperience with technical writingElectrical worker, as defined by ARL and APG Safety.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.
