Primary Purpose

The Software Development Engineer - DevOps, will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure. The primary focus will be on leveraging AWS technologies, optimizing for performance and security, and ensuring seamless integration with edge locations. Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust, scalable, and secure systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Node.js, React, and GraphQL.
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, and other AWS services.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline to ensure smooth and efficient software deployment.
  • Implement monitoring solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools to track performance, availability, and security metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, conduct regular security assessments, and implement security controls (IAM, security groups, NACLs, etc.).
  • Optimize applications and services for edge locations, enhancing performance and reducing latency for end-users.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure, processes, and procedures, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for new and existing features.
  • Work in an agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of related professional experience.
  • Proficiency in AWS services and architecture (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, etc.)
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CDK or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.)
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools (IAM, security groups, NACLs, etc.)
  • Understanding of edge computing and CDN technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Satisfactory background check required.
