Details:
Research, design, and development of high-performance microwave filters, diplexers, multiplexers, passive components, and assemblies (passive and active) for commercial and military RF applications.
Specific Duties:
1. Design and development of innovative RF components and systems (including lumped, planar, cavity, and dielectric resonator technologies), such as advanced pseudo-elliptic microwave filters (both single- and multi-mode), diplexers, multiplexers, switched filter banks (including simple amplifier configurations and PCB layout for RF and DC boards), using Ansoft HFSS, Ansoft Designer, Genesys, and other custom software
2. Performing engineering work of various types in the design or redesign, manufacture, installation, operation, or maintenance of microwave filters, systems or equipment;
3. Designing and developing RF/microwave filters, utilizing filter techniques in discrete and distributed systems using HFSS, Ansoft Designer, Genesys; 4. Writing filter synthesis programs and test and automation software, suitable for use by lower-level engineers for design and test purposes; 5. Assisting lab technicians by simulating test results and recommending circuit modifications to improve performance; 6. Preparing acceptance and qualification test procedures for use by lab technicians and other engineers; 7. Contributing to customer proposals, with both written and verbal presentations, both at RS Microwave and to RS Microwave customers; 8. Participating in internal company seminars and design reviews; 9. Interfacing with the mechanical design group, providing electrical guidance on new designs; and 10. Participating in scientific conferences, presenting papers, interacting with other scientists and engineers, continually absorbing new ideas, and developing new products.
Job Requirements
Details:
• Minimum PhD in Electrical Engineering or PhD in Physics (experience focused on filter, diplexer, and multiplexers design rather than antennas or propagation, communication link-budget, capacity, and other topics belonging to the RF network world).

Understanding of driving/biasing circuits and basic logic networks such as the ones required for the control of a switch.

Good verbal and written communication in English.
