Vice President of Engineering

The Vice President of Engineering role is responsible for leading, developing, and directing the Technical Transformation Team, responsible for Project Management and Execution, Process Engineering and Altium Machine Build Program Management, Automation, and Commercialization of new products or existing products on new lines. The team provides technical and engineering support across the entire organization to drive innovation, solve problems, and uphold our Altium Culture through utilization of the Guiding Principles. This role is a key leader within the cross-functional Operations Leadership team, delivering solution sets to various problems inside and outside of key responsibilities.

Essential Functions - Roles/Responsibilities

  • Directs and develops the technical transformation team inclusive of Project Management and Execution, Process Engineering and Altium Machine Build Program Management, Automation, and Commercialization.
  • Leads the development and implementation of the Early Management Pillar of TPM.
  • Leads the development and execution of the Platform Management Program.
  • Leads engineering projects, incorporates newest technologies, resolves engineering problems, and recommends technical solution sets for old and new problems.
  • Leads technical leadership and skill development across Operations.
  • Develops, expands, and executes relationships with third-party vendors. Working with Procurement, leads transformation of current vendor paradigms to drive incentive-based performance standards.
  • Is a core member of the Operations Leadership Team.
  • Plays a critical role in Altium Capital Management, ensuring value add usage of our capital spend.
  • Enhances the partnerships within the Engineering Team and externally, primarily with Operations, Planning, Sales, and Finance.
  • Challenges current practices in plant operations that limit opportunities and suboptimize throughput and reliability.
  • Proactively communicates to all cross-functional groups and individuals within Altium.
  • Drives safety, quality, cost, and reliability improvements through both technology and cultural improvements.
  • Identifies and mitigates resource constraints in our implementation plans.
  • Provides technical expertise and project delivery services to plant and corporate personnel.
  • Functions as a change agent through utilization of the Altium Change Excellence Process.
  • Directs and develops a team responsible for processing on new product commercialization efforts.
  • Ensures that the Engineering team is designed to deliver against Altium’s Vision and the Operation’s Compelling Business Need.
  • Drives the organization through processes required to achieve vertical startup.
  • Drives the development of engineering standards and the development of standard equipment bid packages for OEM’s.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

Minimum of 10+ years in Manufacturing/Engineering, Project Management, Automation, and/or Commercialization required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Blow molding industry experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to correctly prioritize tasks.
  • Travel between 20-70% monthly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in team-building skills.
  • Innate ability to develop willing followers and lead others by influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change.
  • Experience Leading Early Management Preferred.
