An experienced Operations Technology Engineer is being sought to support and implement Industrial Control Systems in line with company policies and standards. This role will work closely with Process Control, Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Audit, Governance, and Mill Division leadership to enhance operational performance, capabilities, and cybersecurity within manufacturing facilities. The engineer will support local mill sites, lead IT policy implementation in the OT domain, and ensure policy consistency across all mills. They will also serve as a technical lead for new corporate initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior IT Manager, this role will provide support to Process Control and Cyber teams as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support OT convergence activities at the local site.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of OT/ICS equipment.
  • Lead manufacturing audit activities for the local site.
  • Implement ICS standards in collaboration with the Infrastructure team.
  • Foster relationships with Audit, Governance, and Cyber teams to provide top-tier support.
  • Coordinate with the Incident Response Team and Security/Cyber Response teams.
  • Provide OT and Cyber leadership in mill management and production meetings.
  • Collaborate with IT and OT departments to address business needs.
  • Work with vendors and corporate IT teams as necessary.
  • Manage DCS/QCS implementations, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Support ICS systems and steady-state OT process management.
  • Translate business requirements into system-specific needs.
  • Coordinate and document OT-related training.
  • Ensure adherence to change control, security policy, and audit requirements.

General Duties:

  • Serve as the OT systems and engineering support leader for the mill.
  • Manage OT projects and systems support.
  • Coordinate business and vendor meetings.
  • Maintain communication with executives and stakeholders about OT activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and processes.
  • Provide on-call support as needed and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Travel as required for support and collaboration.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive experience with manufacturing and OT-related systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS systems).
  • Expertise in ICS communications and protocols (e.g., OPC-DA, HART, Profinet).
  • Advanced industrial networking skills (firewall configuration, TCP/IP, IoT, Edge Devices).
  • Demonstrated project leadership and OT systems management experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, coordinate teams, and meet deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • A four-year degree in IT, Networking, Software, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ideally 5 years of experience in OT systems support and integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of control systems, DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and safety systems.
  • Experience with network layouts, servers, switches, and cybersecurity standards like ISA95 and NIST.
  • 5+ years of experience managing manufacturing process control networks, OT infrastructure, and working with third-party vendors.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
