Lead Backend Engineer

LOCATIONS: Tracy, CA (Bay Area), Phoenix, AZ, or Memphis, TN

1. Over 15 years of experience including a minimum of 3 years as Java Lead
2. Java Lead with Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka skill set
3. Experience working with multiple database tools like DB2, SQL, Oracle
4. Experience in Programming (Java, JavaEE, JavaScript/React, etc.)
5. Expert with designing and developing scalable microservices using open-source Java Frameworks: Spring MVC/Web Flux and Spring Boot, Design patterns
6. Familiar with industry standards around IT change management and development deployments
7. Intermediate knowledge of the business systems and technologies within the Logistics domain (WMOS – warehouse management and 3rd party logistics integrations)
8. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
9. Hands-on experience in defining secure coding practices/standards, unit testing standards, GIT repo/branching strategy, Code quality (SONAR)
10. Hands-on experience with Java, JPA, RESTful web services, SLF4J logging, Kafka Topic and consumer, Application configuration management
11. Hands-on experience with deployment to Containerized Platform (Kubernetes)
12. Experience with CI (Continuous Integration) methodologies and tools, including automated testing tools
13. Hands-on experience with application monitoring tools - AppD, Splunk, ELK, Grafana - including alerts and notification setup
14. Hands-on experience with Integration platforms and web services
15. Experience working in an agile development environment – Jira, sprint planning, story point estimation
16. Integration experience with Distribution Centers and Warehouse Management Systems; experience with Manhattan WMoS is required
17. Integration experience in Transportation Management systems, Manhattan Slotting, and Labor Management systems is nice to have
18. Work with Manhattan Associates to lead the design and development of new capabilities
19. Exhibit the qualities of situational leadership as well as someone who can work with a team and pull the team forward to deliver business value
20. A self-starter, who can learn on the job
21. Ability to triage, research, and find root causes of Production Incidents
22. Possess basic skills of database query and data analysis
23. Basic knowledge of system integration concepts
24. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read functional specifications
25. Ability to create and interpret technical specifications
26. Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how technology can support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals
27. Proven ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions
28. Flexible, ability to deal with ambiguity, and a demonstrated desire for continuous personal growth
29. Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams
