It's a great time to join JRC's System Engineering & Integration Team! We are actively searching for a Senior Principal Design Engineer to support the Anti-Tamper (AT) leadership and the NAVSEA Anti-Tamper Technical Warrant Holder. You will provide Anti-Tamper-related programmatic support and technical assessments to be performed in a dedicated classified lab. You will assist with meeting new or existing requirements for form, fit, and function, and integrates the solution set by use of accepted Systems Engineering (SE) methods and approaches.

You will be supporting the SPEAR Lab located in the Advanced Microelectronics Assessment branch (GXVL) of the Trusted Microelectronics Division (GXV). This position supports production workload along with capability development for multiple programs supported by the SPEAR lab. This position is a fast paced and highly technical position supporting many customers in the Intelligence community providing support to our Nations Warfighters.

As the Senior Principal Design Engineer, you will...

  1. Develop and compare alternative layouts or designs, which utilize equipment of various kinds and capabilities in diverse physical arrangements which may involve consideration of structural, mechanical, and hydraulic features.
  2. Create preliminary designs and specifications.
  3. Support quality assurance efforts for developed and fielded systems.
  4. Provide status reports to project managers and/or division production manager as required.
  5. Evaluate the numerous and frequent changes in design and performance which affect the assigned equipment prior to and during production.
  6. Review new approaches to circuitry and power distribution or incorporation of automatic self-test methods in equipment design.
  7. Interface and collaborate with a range of engineers, scientists, policy makers, and executives within the government, and industry.
  8. Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify algorithms related to image, signal, and network processing as well as data protection that would satisfy customer mission requirements.
  9. Specialize in Concepts, theories, and methods for designing, analyzing, testing, and integrating electrical and communications systems - Designing analog and digital circuits (e.g., FPGAs, ASICs, PCBs).

What you bring to the table...

  1. Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline or Industrial Design.
  2. 12+ years of professional experience including demonstrated experience with Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASICs) microelectronic design.
  3. An active security clearance at the SECRET level (or have held an active clearance within the last 2 years).
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
