Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. 

This long-term contract position requires a top-of-the-line network administrator or architect capable of implementing robust network security monitoring solutions. 

The ideal candidate will be actively involved in architecture review boards and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement network security measures to protect systems from cyber threats.

Participate in architecture review boards to contribute to the development of network security strategies.

Attend CAB meetings to discuss and approve changes to network security protocols.

Collaborate with team members during the initial phase to integrate into our complex system environment.

Transition to working independently, managing network security tasks with minimal supervision.

Maintain and configure firewalls and other network security tools to ensure the integrity of our network.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.

Proven experience in network security engineering, including firewall management and security protocol implementation.

Ability to work effectively in a team setting and transition to independent responsibilities.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a complex system environment.

Effective communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders and team members.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience in a high-level network administration or architectural role with a focus on security.

Familiarity with current network security trends and technologies.
