Overview of the Job Requirements

Soft Skills

1. Communication: Discern meaning behind what we are communicating; proactive listener.
2. Volunteers information and doesn't just respond with yes/no answers.
3. Wants good answers; asks questions and gives examples and suggestions on how to make things better.
4. Show some personality; is this person easy to work with and personable?
5. Doesn't like a dry personality; someone that just wants to know what to do.

Technical Requirements

Must Have:

1. Spring Boot (very important; everything is developed in Spring Boot).
2. Experience in RESTful web services and building APIs.
3. Cloud experience (they use GCP; AWS experience is okay).

Limited Experience:

1. Microservices.
2. Understanding what the architecture looks like; breaking legacy dev styles.
3. Knowing GitHub versioning.
4. Some DevOps experience; able to do Jenkins jobs.

Production Engineering

Service is in production today, so needs people who can run production support for bugs reported in production. Good at troubleshooting, researching, and fixing issues in production.
