Platform Engineer
Location: Arlington, VA

Responsibilities:
Technology Scope of Position
- Technologies may include end user compute, collaboration & productivity, and directory services. The focus of this role is operating systems, device management, group policies, browsers, printers and administrative scripting.
- Solid knowledge of the following product space including Windows platform, Intune, Windows Update for Business, Autopilot, Group Policy, M365, Azure Active Directory, PowerShell.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on a team of 6 platform engineers to prioritize work efforts, complete status reports, and communicate with program level senior management and federal stakeholders.
- Perform deployments and troubleshoot complex issues in a large network environment.
- Experience with infrastructure systems administration, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) server health checks.
- Work in a large IT enterprise environment following SOPs and Work Instructions to provide quality customer service.
- Provide solutions to complex issues; handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate in a group setting with remote personnel of various skill levels.
- Work with minimal supervision, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ensure Change Management procedures are followed.
- Develop automation tools for information gathering and configuration changes to the desktop environment.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for user and machine Intune configuration policies.
- Maintain distribution points across all sites including vendor sites when necessary.
- Work closely with Application teams to test and approve new software being added to the builds.
- Assist Sr. Engineer with yearly review of Hardware standards and provide recommendations based on new models.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues within the end user environment.
- Maintain currency in end user market trends and participate in industry workgroups as needed.
- Identify issues in the environment and efficiently communicate them with colleagues and upper management.
- Document work processes and workflows.
- Knowledge of remote support tools (e.g. Beyond Trust, Remote Help).
- Familiarity with core technologies such as DNS, DHCP, storage, and networking.
- Basic coding skills in PowerShell, VBScript, or Python.
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills
- 5 years of experience in IT support or related field.
- Experience in Systems Administration, including workstation & server troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server OS knowledge (Win11, Server 2012 or higher).
- Experience using ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow.
- Experience managing Windows devices with Intune.
