Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking a talented System Security Engineering (SSE) Cybersecurity Engineer. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of the cybersecurity scope. The person in this role will lead the analysis of issues that directly affect the system. The successful candidate will have a security-conscious approach to take into consideration the systems level effect to resolving complex programs and the ability to convince leadership that the proposed solution is best for the mission (including program cost and schedule as well as the technical solution). The individual will work with the program and customer in the maintenance and acquisition of Risk Management Framework ATOs, support tech refresh and system upgrades, and provide strategic input and planning for the system, applications, architecture and design in a dynamic environment. This person will assist in the tracking of key roadmaps and deliverables alongside program management.

What You Will Do:

1. Implement proper cybersecurity controls
2. Interact with customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
3. Maintain a Risk Management Framework Authorization to Operate for the system
4. Support developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans
5. Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems
6. Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues
7. Define security development and test efforts implementation of security controls of networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware and software components
8. Integrate cybersecurity development activities
9. Develop top–level system requirements, and flow down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems
10. Understand and comply with DoD technology release and export licensing policies
11. Expected to travel 1 week quarterly (10%)

Qualifications You Must Have:

1. Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
2. Technical leadership experience
3. Experience in Cybersecurity Engineering
4. Experience with Systems Engineering
5. Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
6. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
7. The ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required

Qualifications We Prefer:

1. Usage of information security toolsets including anti–virus, Vulnerability Assessment, HIDS/NIDS, host–based or endpoint security solutions, Multi–Factor Authentication (MFA), and Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and centralized auditing tools; familiarity with Splunk is preferred.
2. Linux Bash scripting and Python scripting experience
3. Security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software S/W operating system and application solutions in both a stand–alone and in LAN/WAN configurations
4. DoDI 8570.01–M IAT Level–II Compliant Certification (e.g. Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
5. Security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies.
6. Experience with IT and/or network and system security administration, including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for UNIX, MS Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and CISCO systems.
7. Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation
8. Familiar with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), as described in NIST Special Publication 800–37
9. Experience with Python scripting and Linux Bash
10. Familiar with Program Protection Plan (PPP) required by DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39
11. Experience working on U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter expert.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
