We create best in class products by leveraging advanced analysis tools, extensive testing regimes, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and cross-functional agility.The Senior Reliability Engineer’s primary duties are to utilize advanced level engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products. This individual will also help mentor junior engineers on technical skill development. The Sr Reliability Engineer will define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.A successful candidate will bring curiosity, accountability, and strong experience in test development, validation, and data acquisition to the New Product Development team. The Candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct DevelopmentBe a subject matter expert in the New Product Development team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliabilityDevelop Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements from collaboration with Product Management and participation in User Needs ResearchCollaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needsDesign experimental techniques to improve development and testing effortsLead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) for new product development projects during the product development cycleInteract with global suppliers that participate in product developmentTrack multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.Testing and AnalysisDevelop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirementsPerform Data Analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test dataSummarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusionsEnsure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratoriesJob RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with 5 years of experience in similar reliability, test, or quality rolesStrong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as Design Of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, Failure Mode Engineering Analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysisStrong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to travel 5% domestically and 10% internationallyEqual Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/DisabledWe endeavor to make this site accessible to any and all users.
