Position: IT DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote within United States
NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of customers assigned to this role.
The Team
The IT Cloud Operations team is the go team for Cloud based projects and applications. We work in parallel with various Engineering organizations, Security, Marketing, and others on providing devops solutions such as: deploying and maintaining managed & in-house applications, CI/CD and other Development cycle tools, metrics & reporting and integration with various vendors and security products including Zscaler.
The Role
The IT Cloud Operations team has a need for a self-driven and seasoned engineer that is versatile, ready to learn on the go, proven collaborator, and a cloud platforms guru. You’ll be working on major projects to deploy applications on cloud platforms using Devops philosophies and strategies. The Devops engineer will influence the rest of the IT organization & Engineering teams with Devops practices and solutions.
Responsibilities/What You’ll Do
The IT infrastructure Devops Engineer will contribute to the IT Cloud Operations team on developing and maintaining Cloud Platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) across three major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP), develop and support CICD platforms, monitoring & reporting tools.
There is a mix of projects where collaboration and individual ownership is required. Some include:
Application migrations, Cloud Platform Architecture and Solutions, integration with various Security tools, FinOps, cloud posture and compliance, building an automated Environment deployment system.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as code (IAC) for deploying infrastructure on AWS, GCP and Azure
- Develop, maintain and strategize CICD solutions on CICD platforms such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, Bamboo
- Develop and deploy application tooling: logging, monitoring and reporting tools such as: Prometheus, Grafana, Cloudwatch, Logstash etc.
- Maintaining and monitoring containerized applications on Kubernetes
- Cloud platforms champion: become a resource for multiple organizations on helping define architecture, strategies
- Supporting FinOps team: this is a key role for supporting FinOps team on strategies for management and right sizing
- Support, and maintain Zscaler Products on the cloud such as: branch connector, appconnector, ZPA, Cloud Posture Control
- Work with internal Security team to develop and maintain security best practices
- Deploy Infrastructure that meets compliance such as CIS, STIG etc.
- Support FedRamp applications
- 5+ experience with Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, & GCP
- 5+ years of experience with open source projects and code, such as linux and unix operating systems, Bash, python, Go
- 3+ years of experience on CICD platforms such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, github actions etc.
- 3+ years of experience on Kubernetes platforms
- FedRamp ready: US citizenship required
- Automation evangelist
- Strong communication skills and a team player comfortable interacting with various internal and external groups.
- Experience with ArgoCD, ArgoWorkflow
- Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence and Bamboo
- Experience in SRE environments, where you will be responsible for the overall health of various applications
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$115,000 — $135,000 USD
