CNC Programmer

Job Title: Programmer

Job Purpose

The programmer is responsible for writing programs for the machines to perform tasks for each metal part that is machined. Works closely with machinists to ensure programs are working properly and are meeting cycle time requirements.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

• Writing programs for the machines to perform tasks to cut metal parts.
• Working closely with machinists to ensure that the program is functioning properly.
• Ensuring the program meets cycle time requirements and making necessary adjustments.
• Program maintenance, including DNC, upload, download, running, reviewing, and saving as a master if it meets qualifications.
• Ensuring programs and process routers align.
• Verifying correct tool sheets with full tool descriptions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong decision-making abilities in complex problem-solving situations.
• Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Experience with reading and writing G Code programs.
• Experience in programming 5-axis equipment.
