The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to construction staff. This role will review bidding and design documents, while overseeing and evaluating the construction process. They assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality from start to finish.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Support project teams in preconstruction efforts, project start-up, documentation, contract administration (subcontracts, purchase orders, and owner contracts), site orientations, schedule management, reporting, material procurement, field supervision, and project closeout
- Tracking log creation and utilization for items including, safety, procurement, submittals, RFI's, productivity tracking, QA/QC, and change management
- Participate in project meetings, create agendas, take meeting minutes, and facilitate project walk throughs
- Review submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and expedite for timely review
- Initiate, prepare, review, track, and distribute RFIs
- Assist Superintendent with non-conformance issues, special inspections, safety, compliance, and permit and certificate of occupancy processes
- Track and review certified payroll reports
- Management of drawings/specifications and keep revisions current
- Assist in preparation of bid packages and requests for proposals (RFP)
- Track and inspect project deliveries
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering related field and/or minimum of 3-years experience in a construction related support role
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, MS Project or P6 (scheduling), Bluebeam, Procore or Sage (construction management), and PowerPoint or Prezi (presenting)
- Solid organization, written and verbal communication skills
- Efficient in time management, the ability to multi-task and adhere to/meet deadlines along with a strong attention to detail
- Must have a strong customer-oriented approach and demonstrated professional demeanor
- Current driver's license and insurable driving record
